Portfolio

Below is a sampling of my most current web portfolio. I have plans to add both print and photography in the very near future, but as is the normal, when you do what I do for a living, you never have time to handle your own work. You can hover over the image to pause the slideshow to get a better look. This entire portfolio section is done with pure jQuery, not an ounce of Flash. Nice to know the power of client side javascript. I plan on experimenting with server-side soon as it seems to be gaining steam in the development community.

JYGY, The World’s Favorite Mobile Destination is the project I have been involved in for the last two years and three months. This project included XHTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, JSF and J2EE on the backend with a Postgres database. The screenshot here does not demonstrate the interactiveness available on the actual site. Every picture will allow a user to hover for more information, and and the box on the bottom left is a scrolling activity monitor that updates in real time. My primary involvement was with the usability experience, design and implementation of all front end code. In addition, I managed the back end development and product management as well as server operations. This interface built for JYGY was more than likely the most successful one and received high praise at the Microsoft “Under The Radar” conference from industry leaders at Microsoft, Google and HP. While not selected for the grand prize at the conference, the decision was based on the product and not the interface. This interface was the primary interface for JYGY.com for over a year, and was only changed due to decisions made by an outside marketing firm. As previously mentioned, JYGY was an ongoing project in where I was constantly putting together mockups, and
concepts to pitch to the CEO. This particular concept was built and deployed to production for a short period utilizing the same techologies mentioned previously. As previously mentioned, JYGY was an ongoing project in where I was constantly putting together mockups, and
concepts to pitch to the CEO. These are some of those concepts, although these never got built beyond the mockups you see above. Mockups were done using Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Adobe Photoshop CS3. WDHogan.com is a site I developed for a director in Los Angeles, CA to showcase his work. He is both a director and a full-time storyboard artist which is why I chose to go with two distinct looks for different sections of this site. Technologies used in the development of this site were Flash, Quicktime, XHTML, Javascript and CSS. Additionally all initial comps were completed in Photoshop CS3. This site was designed and built to replace a previous site for a local BMW auto repair shop. This site was built based on the Blueprint CSS Grid, using XHTML, Javascript, jQuery, CSS, and PHP. These were some concepts for a project that ended up heading in a slighly different direction. I liked them so much that I opted to include them in these pages. The following page was the final design. Current interface design for iAbol.com, currently in production and being contructed. Expected to go live in March 2009. Technologies inlcude .NET 3.5 and the Telerik Rad Controls for Ajax components. Also using jQuery, and heavy CSS. A clean simple design that never saw the outside of a conference room until now. I like it, so I put it here. Photoshop and Illustrator we used to create Mockup.
